About the founder

Operational discipline meets a lifelong respect for the story.

Arthurgwain L. Marquez is the founder of Valor Group Media. A Houston native of Filipino heritage now based in Norfolk, Virginia, his U.S. Navy career began in 2008 as a Navy Deep Sea Diver before he transitioned to visual communication and photography.

As a Navy Chief Petty Officer, Arthurgwain has led teams and managed photography operations for large-scale military ceremonies, official events, and complex, time-sensitive assignments. His experience extends beyond the camera to personnel leadership, equipment logistics, planning, quality control, and coordination under strict timelines.

Photography remains deeply personal to him. Documenting the service and milestones of Sailors and military families has shown him how much a photograph can mean when it is created with care. That sense of responsibility is the foundation of every Valor program.

Outside of photography, Arthurgwain is an Ironman triathlete and organizer of a local running club—pursuits that reinforce the consistency, preparation, discipline, and community-minded leadership he brings to the business.

“The standard behind Valor comes from experience: prepare thoroughly, lead with accountability, and deliver work worthy of the people it represents.”
